Ä¢¹½AV the UPass

Your ̹½AV NetID provides access toÌýDalOnline, myDal, Microsoft 365 Email, Brightspace, computer labs, and many other services.

Completing the form on the ÌýwillÌýinitiateÌýthe one-time process that will activate your account. Complete details about the process will be displayed afterÌýsubmitting.

TheÌýUPassÌýfee for the Fall/Winter is assessed for all full-time students, this covers fromÌýSeptember 1 to April 30Ìýof any given academic year. If you are opting in for only the Winter term, the coverage is from January 2 to April 30 of any givenÌýyear,Ìýand the cost is half of the Fall/Winter term combined fee.

The SummerÌýUPass is assessed for all full-timeÌýstudents,Ìýand it covers May 1 to August 31Ìýof any given academic year. This is a separate program from the Fall/WinterÌýUPass, and you must meet the criteria outlined on theÌýUPass pageÌýtoÌýparticipateÌýin theÌýSummerÌýUPassÌýprogram.

Opting out

Please visit theÌýUPass optingÌýout page beginning two weeks prior to the start of each term and click on theÌýUPass opt-out waiver form. You will need yourÌýNetID and password to access the form.

The due date for opting out isÌýlocatedÌýon the Opting out pageÌýand on the Important dates page.

You cannot opt out for the following reasons:

  • You choose to drive, bike, or walk to campus

  • You live on or near campus

  • Your scheduleÌýdoesn’tÌýallow you to take the bus

Once theÌýUPassÌýoffice has received all required information,ÌýdocumentationÌýand/or the return of yourÌýUPassÌýsticker if applicable yourÌýUPassÌýwaiver is sent to student accounts for processing.

The refund will appear on your account a few days prior to the date that your tuition fees are due, as noted on the Important dates page. If your waiver is processed after the deadline, we ask that you allow 3–5 business days for the refund to appear on your student account.

Please verify that the deadline for opting out has not passed.

Please try a different browser, and clear any bookmarks and your cache, or launch from the OptingÌýout page.

If you have missed theÌýUPassÌýwaiver deadline, please refer to the OptingÌýout page for more information about if you qualify to opt out and then email upass@dal.ca withÌýthe details of your situation.

Please ensure that you have provided the required documentation and/or returned yourÌýUPassÌýsticker per theÌýonline waiver form instructions. If you have completed everything, please emailÌýupass@dal.ca.

Getting your pass

Please check theÌý±«±Ê²¹²õ²õÌý·É±ð²ú²õ¾±³Ù±ð at the start of each term for the most up-to-date information on when and where you can pick-up yourÌýUPass.

TheÌýDalCardÌýandÌýUPassÌýoffice hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m.Ìý-Ìý4:30 pm.ÌýPlease check theÌýContact usÌýpage for information on extended hours.

If you are eligible for the Fall/Winter termÌýUPassÌýor the Winter term alone in January, the fee will be added to your student account automatically.

Yes, you can opt in for the winter if you meet the criteria as a full-time student or any of our other specific criteria. Please check theÌýOpting in page for the most up-to-date information on opting in.
