The Environmental Resilience Research Cluster (ERRC) invites applications for a Research Assistant position as part of The Arts Impact Partnership (TAIP): Understanding the Arts’ Civic Impact in the Data-Driven Economy, a national, multi-institutional project exploring how arts organizations measure and communicate their environmental and social impacts.
The RA will collaborate with the ERRC and the TAIP Information Working Group to identify, organize, and analyze data sources related to sustainability reporting, environmental impact assessment, and arts-sector evaluation frameworks. During the winter term, the RA will conduct an environmental scan, map key data domains, and contribute to the design of a shared database for arts and sustainability data. Over the summer, the RA will deepen this work through comparative analysis, synthesis, and visualization of findings to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in how the arts sector measures environmental impact.
This position is open to students currently enrolled in a graduate program at Ä¢¹½AV. The position requires strong research, data management, and organizational skills, attention to detail, and an interest in interdisciplinary collaboration across environmental science, sustainability, and the arts. Experience with environmental data, arts administration, or sustainability assessment will be considered an asset.

Job Description:
Teaching assistants (TAs) will lead undergraduate students in tutorial sessions covering a variety of topics in introductory-level environmental science. Topics include air pollution, climate change, energy resources, urbanization, and human health. The tutorials are designed to be hands-on to provide opportunities for small group activities and discussions. Each TA will lead two 1.5-hour tutorials per week for approximately 11 weeks and spend time preparing for and grading tutorials assignments. TA will also be responsible for invigilating the midterm and final exam and assisting with grading the exams.
Qualifications/Experience:
Successful applicants must be a senior undergraduate, graduate, or professional student at Ä¢¹½AV in a field related to environmental science/studies or with undergraduate education in a field related to environmental science. TAs must be reliable, energetic, and enthusiastic about the tutorial topics. Experience with basic statistical packages would be an asset. They must also be comfortable in facilitating the learning of undergraduate students.

Description: ENVS3100 takes a hands-on approach to data analysis in support of environmental problem solving. Methodological approaches include the use of geographic information systems (ArcGIS Pro), statistical coding and data visualization (R and MS Excel), and development of scientific communication skills.
The responsibilities of the TA are to:
• Provide ongoing support for students during lab sessions and running the occasional lab session
• Mark lab assignments and provide feedback in collaboration with the course instructor
• Assist with updating assignments, sourcing datasets, and setting up Brightspace components as required
• Mark quizzes, and presentations in collaboration with the course instructor
Requirements: The position requires availability during lab sessions (Wed 10:05-11:25). The successful candidate will have a minimum BSc with experience using ArcGIS Pro, familiarity with coding in the R language, and strong numeracy skills. The ability to communicate effectively, support students, and provide constructive feedback are important assets for this role.

Job Description: The Teaching Assistants (TAs) will be responsible for assisting the Instructor with ENVS/SUST 3502 Environmental Problem Solving II/Campus as a Living Laboratory. In this course, students form groups and identify campus focused sustainability-related research topics to complete during the term, culminating in a final research report and presentation. Primary duties of the TAs include attending weekly classes, meeting with assigned student groups to support research project development and completion, marking student assessments, and meeting regularly with the instructional team to align grading and discuss student progress.
Qualifications/Experience: Successful applicants should be a graduate or professional student at Ä¢¹½AV and possess a background in environmental science, environmental studies, and/or sustainability. Senior undergraduate students may be considered. The TAs must be reliable, energetic, and committed to supporting student research projects centered around campus sustainability. A scholarly background with quantitative and/or qualitative methods and independent research experience is necessary. In-person class attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 16:05 – 17:25 during the Winter 2026 term (Jan-April) is required as well as availability for meetings with the instructional team.

JOB DESCRIPTION: 4850 is a winter term upper year GIS project-based course taken primarily by students completing the undergraduate GIS certificate.
The TA will:
· Assist with demonstrating tools and techniques in ArcGIS to the class (ArcMap and ArcGIS PRO) via online platforms (BB Collaborate, MS Teams, or other)
· Provide student support for research project work
· Hold virtual office hours
· Help trouble-shoot technical issues with software (ArcGIS PRO)
· Mark assignments and provide feedback in collaboration with the course instructor
· Assist with updating assignments and datasets as required
· Assist with marking research reports and presentations in collaboration with the course instructor
The position requires availability during class time though the TA does not need to be present for all classes.
