The School of Social Work offers both undergraduate and graduate programs:
- Bachelor of Social Work
The Bachelor of Social Work degree is designed to develop a broad range of diverse skills and theoretical perspectives that may be used in a variety of job settings. It is accredited by the Canadian Association for Social Work Education.The program is available both on Ä¢¹½AV’s campus and via distance delivery. Our graduates are qualified to practice social work throughout Canada and elsewhere.
- Master of Social Work
The Master of Social Work is a five full-credit degree program. The curriculum is organized into core and elective courses. In addition, the School allows for students to complete a thesis or non-thesis based program. It provides students with advanced professional education leading to the development of specialized social work practice and leadership positions in the practice field.
- Master of Social WorkÌý- L'nuey Program
The forthcoming Master of Social Work (MSW) - L’nuey Program is centred in Mi’kmaq ways of seeing, relating, knowing and doing.ÌýWe are aiming to start this program in September 2026 (with January 2027 as an alternate date).
