General Information

1. How do I apply to a certificate or diploma program?

Applications to the School of Health Administration's certificate and diploma programs are submitted through Ä¢¹½AV's online . Program specific admission requirements and application deadlines can be found on the School of Health Administration website. Applicants are encouraged to review the requirements carefully before submitting their application.

2. I am a current Ä¢¹½AV student, do I still need to apply to a program?

3. Can I apply to the certificate or diploma program direct from high school?

Our certificate and diploma programs are designed for individuals who have completed some post-secondary education or have relevant professional experience. Admission requirements vary by program, so applicants should review the specific requirements for the program they are interested in before applying.

4. I have questions about a certificate or diploma application, who should I contact?

Questions about applications, admission requirements, or supporting documentation can be directed by email to healthadmin@dal.ca.

5. I have been accepted to a certificate or diploma program, now what?

Once you have accepted your offer, you should activate your Ä¢¹½AV NetID (if you have not already done so). New students will receive additional information from the program by email about program information, course registration, and next steps before the start of classes. Students are encouraged to review your program requirements, register for courses, and familiarize yourself with the online learning platforms and student resources available through Ä¢¹½AV. 

6. Do I have to attend the courses in-person?

No. The School of Health Administration's certificate and diploma programs are designed to provide flexibility for working professionals and are offered fully online.

7. How will courses be delivered?

Courses are delivered online through Ä¢¹½AV's learning management system, . Depending on the course, learning activities may include recorded lectures, readings, discussion forums, group projects, assignments, and virtual meetings. Courses offer asynchronous learning, allowing students to complete coursework on their own schedule while meeting assignment deadlines. 

8. What is the tuition for certificate and diploma programs?

The tuition for the DHSA or DEHSM program is per course-based so students pay fees according to the number of courses they are completing in a particular term. For more details information students can refer to the Money Matters website and can use the Tuition Calculator to help estimate the cost of each course using the Health Services Administration option under programs.

9. Will I work with other students?

Yes, there will be opportunities for group work, projects, discussions, etc.  Diploma students have the opportunity to interact through the online Brightspace distance learning website.

10. Will I have an Academic Advisor?

Diploma students can contact the Undergraduate Program Coordinator for assistance. They may also reach out by email at healthadmin@dal.ca to help get connected to the correct support or services on campus.
