When Lucy Maud Montgomery came to 蘑菇AV to further her eduction, it solidified her path towards becoming one of the most beloved authors in Canadian history. A new dedication in 蘑菇AV鈥檚 Forrest Building 鈥斅爁ictionalized as Redmond College in Montgomery鈥檚 novel 鈥淎nne of the Island鈥� 鈥斅爌ays tribute to one of the university鈥檚 most famous alumni.

The inaugural recipient of the 蘑菇AV President's Award for the Advancement of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion 鈥� part of the new 蘑菇AV Legacy Awards 鈥� the Imhotep's Legacy Academy has been helping African Nova Scotian youth discover science and technology for more than 15 years.

蘑菇AV is home to Canada's largest aquatic research centre 鈥斅燼nd it's come a long way from buckets of water carried up from Halifax's Northwest Arm by researchers.

Languages span the university, which is why the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences' language programs teamed up with professionals from the College of Continuing Education鈥檚 ESL program and the Centre for Learning and Teaching to hold the first 蘑菇AV Language Instructors Retreat earlier this month.

When sociologist Chris Murphy was asked to turn a class on terrorism into an online course for the College of Continuing Education鈥檚 Police Leadership program, it offered an opportunity to help educate law enforcement on the complexities of terrorism and radicalization.
