Students Score Big for Community

Each year, Ä¢¹½AV Engineering and Ä¢¹½AV Commerce face off in a hockey game that has become about far more than rivalry.
Now in its fourth year, the Eng vs. Comm matchup has grown into one of the university’s most impactful student-led traditions,Ìýbringing together competition, collaboration, and community. This year’s matchup ended in a narrow 4–3 victory for Ä¢¹½AV Engineering, but the most meaningful result came off the ice, with $75,000 raised in support of the Canadian Cancer Society and The Lodge That GivesÌýin Halifax.

Organized by students from bothÌýFaculties, the annual event continues to expand in both reach and impact. ThroughÌýtheirÌýongoing partnership, Ä¢¹½AV Engineering and Ä¢¹½AV Commerce students have now raisedÌýnearly $300,000Ìýin support of these organizations,ÌýdemonstratingÌýwhat student leadership and strong community support can achieve.
The success of the game is driven not only by those who organize andÌýparticipate, but also by the network of donors, partners, and supporters who continue to stand behind it.
