Extended Learning and the Department of Environmental Sciences at the Ä¢¹½AV Faculty of Agriculture are pleased to announce a new course offering for Spring 2015!
Food Microbiology Techniques is a hands on laboratory course designed for Food Quality and Food Safety Professionals. This course will be held Tuesday - Thursday May 26-28, 2015 at the Ä¢¹½AV Agricultural Campus in Bible Hill, NS.
In this interactive, hands-on course participants work in small groups under the guidance of a highly experienced instructor. Participants will be introduced to the theory and practice of:
·        Basic antiseptic techniquesÂ
·        Handling bacterial culturesÂ
·        Media and plate preparation
·        Bacterial dilutionsÂ
·        Gram stainsÂ
·        The use of autoclaves, pH meters and microscopes
