Dr. Sarah Stewart-Clark (Department of Plant and Animal Science- Aquaculture) was an invited delegate at the Canadian Fisheries and Aquaculture sector meeting on Thursday, April 11-12 in Toronto to develop a national strategy for genomic fisheries and aquaculture research.
The meeting involved approximately 75 academic, industry and government leaders in fisheries and aquaculture research and Dr. Stewart-Clark represented the research needs of the Atlantic Canadian shellfish industry.
The meeting participants assisted in the development of a draft document entitled: A Strategy to Increase Competitiveness and Sustainability through the Application of Genomics.
The workshop was organized and hosted by Genome Canada.
