When Roger ThompsonÌý(BA'89/91,ÌýMA'94) taught at Kyung Hee University in Korea, he had the pleasure to teach many talented students, including K-pop star Park Ye Eun, who studied in his practical English class. She is well-known to audiences around the world as a founding member of the singing group Wonder Girls. One of their songs, "Nobody," was the first Korean entry to be on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US, and Ms. Park presented him with a CD of another album So Hot with the signatures of all the group members, making it a valuable collectible. She also mentioned Roger in the album’s liner notes, and thanked him for teaching her English, which he will always treasure.

Roger is now working online as an English tutor on Preply, and his first student is a Korean immigrant to Canada, so that special connection to Korea continues now that he is home.

Teaching English in Korea was rewarding in many ways, and Roger encourages new Ä¢¹½AV graduates to consider it as a career as well.
